This notice explains what personal information AdBlue Specialist collects when you use adbluespecialist.co.uk or use our services, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it. We are the “data controller” for that information, which means we decide how and why it is used.

The information we collect
When you ask for a quote or contact us
If you use the quote or contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number, your vehicle registration and your message. A copy of each enquiry is saved securely in the website so that none is lost if an email fails, and it is also emailed to us.
When you ask for a call back
The call-back button asks for your name and phone number so that we can ring you.
When you call, email or message us on WhatsApp
We keep that conversation so we can reply and refer back to it. If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp (part of Meta) also processes that message under its own privacy policy.
When we carry out work
To carry out work on your vehicle we record your name, contact details, your vehicle’s registration and details, the work we do and the invoice.
When you browse the site
With your consent, we use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-HN7070PK32 and G-XSEQE9PGT6) to understand how people find and use the site — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are, and what device they use. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this. These cookies are not set unless you accept them, and you can change your mind at any time using “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. Declining does not affect your ability to use the site.
With your separate consent to marketing cookies, we use Google Ads conversion measurement to understand whether our adverts lead to enquiries. Our web host, GoDaddy, also provides performance monitoring that sets cookies; we only allow it if you accept analytics cookies. Maps on our site are provided by Google Maps and only load if you allow them.
The site uses Google Fonts to display text. When a page loads, your browser requests the fonts from Google, which receives your IP address. Google Fonts does not set cookies.
Our hosting and security systems also keep standard server logs, including IP addresses, which help us keep the site available and protect it from abuse. We keep a record of the cookie choice you make (a random ID, your choices and the date — not your IP address) for up to two years, so that we can show we asked for your consent.
Why we are allowed to use your information
UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are:
- To take steps at your request and to perform our contract with you — answering your enquiry, quoting, carrying out the work and taking payment.
- Our legitimate interests — keeping records of the work we have done, dealing with any warranty or guarantee, preventing spam and fraud, and keeping the website secure. We use this basis only where it does not override your own rights.
- Your consent — analytics and marketing cookies, and loading maps. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation — keeping the accounting records that tax law requires us to keep.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. We do share it with the suppliers who help us run the business:
- Google — analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies), advertising measurement (only if you accept marketing cookies), maps (only if you allow them) and web fonts.
- GoDaddy — our website host, which stores the site and its data on our behalf.
- Meta (WhatsApp) — only if you choose to message us on WhatsApp.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
Sending information outside the UK
Some of the suppliers above, including Google, may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is covered by safeguards approved for use in the UK, such as the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or a data bridge (adequacy) decision.
How long we keep it
- Job records and invoices — six years after the end of the relevant tax year, because HMRC requires business records to be kept for that long.
- Enquiries and correspondence — kept while they are useful for answering you and any follow-up work, then deleted.
- Analytics data — retained by Google for the period set in our Google Analytics configuration.
- Cookie consent records — two years.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to delete information we no longer need to keep;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it;
- ask us to transfer it to you or another provider in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where consent is what we relied on.
